Nobody said a year 12 can't explain it;

Limewater + Carbon Dioxide -> Calcium Carbonate + Water
[Ca(OH)2 + CO2 -> CaCO3 + H2O]

The Calcium Carbonate is the white suspension formed, which is insoluble in water. This causes the cloudiness.

Continued passing of Carbon Dioxide through the cloudy limewater makes the cloudiness dissappear. Due the the formation of soluble Calcium Bicarbonate.

Calcium Carbonate + Water + Carbon Dioxide -> Calcium Bicarbonate
[CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 -> Ca(HCO3)2

Pretty easy stuff!
Now where's my Mars bar? Hahahahaha!
